A recent outing by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may cause some upset in the Royal Family, with a source saying it will “annoy” the Prince and Princess of Wales. The former prince was spotted horse riding in Windsor on Monday (November 17).
Andrew has not been out riding in Windsor for seven weeks, but new images confirm he is still living at Windsor. He was asked to vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor and move to a private home in Sandringham after being stripped of his style, titles and honours as Prince and Duke of York by the King on November 6. This came after more than 20,000 pages of emails involving sex trafficker and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein were released, including some major bombshells about the former prince. These include Epstein saying the picture of Andrew and Virginia Giuffre was real despite Andrew’s denial, and Andrew not cutting off contact with Epstein in 2010 after he was jailed for procuring a minor for prostitution. Before Andrew lost his title, the former prince stepped back from royal duties (2019) and was stripped of his military affiliations, charity patronages and use of the “His Royal Highness” style (2022).
A royal source told the Mail that the Prince and Princess of Wales will be “annoyed” about Andrew riding around Windsor, saying that the couple don’t want the former prince in their lives at all, let alone as a neighbour.
The source added that the “move to Sandringham can’t come soon enough to get him away from Windsor”. They said that Andrew being seen on the ground is “really not a good look” for the king.
They said: “The King won’t be happy that his brother has been photographed riding in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which, after all, is funded by the taxpayer.”
But they said that the king still feels “a duty of care to his brother” after Andrew was “holed up at Royal Lodge for weeks”. Friends and family are reportedly “worried about (his) mental health”.
It is believed that the former prince was smuggled out of Royal Lodge in the back of a car and taken to the Royal Mews for his 45-minute horse ride. He was reportedly brought back the same way.
According to locals, Andrew used to go horse riding three or four times a week, “as regular as clockwork”, with staff bringing the horsebox up to his home to avoid photographers.
