BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus invites the community to join in song and celebration at the group’s 30th annual fall concerts, Circle Round, directed by Becky Graber and Anna Patton. The concerts will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 22 and 23, at 4 p.m. at the Brattleboro Music Center. Sunday’s show will also be live streamed and recorded. These concerts feature close to 100 singers raising their voices together in a spirited and heartfelt program about connection, gratitude, and courage.

Circle Round includes a variety of songs that explore the power of living in community. The program features Joan Szymko’s “Here” and “Nothing Short of Grace,” the beloved “Seasons of Love” from “Rent,” and Linda Hirschhorn’s “Ilu Finu” and “Circle Chant.” Another favorite this fall is the lighthearted “Out to Breakfast,” written by Pete Sutherland and arranged by Anna Patton. The chorus will also perform original works by both Graber and Patton, whose compositions and arrangements have become audience favorites for their warmth, accessibility, and rhythmic vitality.

The chorus always features guest musicians for its performances. This fall, Cathy Martin will accompany the chorus on piano, and Michelle Liechti will play violin on several songs.

“Each season we come together to sing, to lift one another and our community with music,” says Artistic Director Becky Graber in a news release. “This concert is a celebration of our singing circle — and of how our singing and listening connects us to each other and to the wider world.”

Co-director Anna Patton adds, “It has been sweet to work with this robust group of dedicated singers who came circling ’round this fall to celebrate the chorus’s anniversary. This singing group is a bright spot for many in the community and also for me – the weekly rehearsals, the concerts, and especially the chance to collaborate with Becky.”

Both in-person and live stream tickets are sold on a sliding scale of $15-$30 per person. These shows are expected to sell out, so purchase tickets in advance at: www.brattleborowomenschorus.org/concerts.
