A new holiday market is coming to downtown Austin this week, offering shoppers a mix of local vendors, live music and seasonal activities in the heart of the city.
Oh What Fun! Austin Holiday Market opens Thursday at Republic Square and run through Dec. 24. The free event is produced by Fetch Concepts, the Denver-based team behind the Cherry Creek Holiday Market, in partnership with the Downtown Austin Alliance and Austin Experiential Group.
The market will feature a rotating group of local retailers selling wares such as jewelry, ceramics, candles, clothing and baked goods. Early vendor highlights include Midnight Cowgirl, Ōme Ink Art, Haute Rocker, With Love, Shay Butta, Paige’s Bakehouse and Gallery Panda, with more expected to be announced. Visitors can also stop by the What a Wonderful Lounge, a themed bar on-site serving seasonal cocktails and other beverages. A selection of food trucks will also be available throughout the market grounds.
In addition to shopping and dining, organizers plan to host a variety of activities including outdoor yoga and pilates, wellness classes and live music performances. Organizers say they hope to establish a new winter tradition in Austin by combining local makers, entertainment and community-focused programming.
The market will operate Thursdays through Sundays, with extended hours during its final week, from Dec. 18-24. Retail stalls will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the bar will remain open until 10 p.m.
