A reality star couple is speaking out after rumors began swirling about their supposed breakup.
Now they’re working overtime to put those rumors to bed.
Egypt Sherrod and husband Mike Jackson, the HGTV stars of the popular series, “Married to Real Estate,” spoke in an Oct. 25 interview with People Magazine about the show’s cancellation after four seasons.
The reality show first made its debut in March 2025.
Per Jackson and Sherrod, the network wasn’t too enthusiastic about filming Season 4. Not to mention that their production crew had been replaced that season as well. This caused major setbacks.
As a result, the arrival of the final season was later than expected.
This then caused confusion amongst fans, where they were unsure of the show’s return after its third season.
“For folks to question, ‘Are you coming back?’ That’s going to affect your ratings. So that mixed with everything else that was going on, it was like, ‘What is happening right now?’” Jackson shared.
Another blow were the “false articles” that began circulating of the two splitting up.
“From a fan standpoint, another monkey wrench in it all was false articles flying all over the place about us separating,” Jackson said in the interview. “We were like, ‘Where’s this coming from? Because we’re still deeply in love and having fun and traveling.’ So you’ve got all the exec changes, you don’t know what time slot and then you’ve got the fans reading articles that aren’t true.”
Moreover, though the pair said to People they were upset when finding out their show wasn’t renewed this past summer, they were grateful for the unique opportunity on the network.
“It was an amazing roller coaster ride. We have no regrets, we lead with love and we leave with love,” Sherrod shared.
