Stephen Colbert has sent a clear message to Donald Trump on the Epstein files, “your move, Don.”
During the Thursday, November 20 episode of The Late Show, the 61-year-old host’s monologue shed light on the House of Representatives’ 427-1 vote to pass an act that moves to release the files from the registered sex offender’s high-profile court case.
He started, “We’re just over a week away from Thanksgiving but, ladies and gentleman, I am already thankful because last night, around 5:30, the U.S. House and Senate voted overwhelmingly to make the justice department release the Epstein files.
“As per the constitution, Congress then left the bill on Trump’s desk like a flaming bag of poop,” he joked. “Very hard to put a gold leaf on that.”
Colbert went on to contemplate what the president’s next move would be, especially considering he’s already “tried to do everything possible to keep this from ever happening.”
“When all that failed and it looked like he was going to lose, Trump suddenly flipped and said everybody should vote for it and they did. Hence, the poop flambé.
He questioned, “Is he going to sign it? Is he going to not sign it or is he going to change his name to Senor Ramon and flee to Acalpuco?
Echoing Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s latest take on the issue, Colbert said, “They can not f— around. If they f— around, they’ll find out.”
He lastly warned the president, “Release all the files, Don or Chuckie Schooms will cut a b—-.”
Just hours after Colbert’s broadcast, Trump took to his social media post to announce he has signed the bill.
He claimed, “Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!”

Over the past few months, the president has tried to distance himself from the disgraced mogul and the files pertaining to his high-profile sex-trafficking case.
While speaking to reporters outside the White House in July, Donald said, “I have nothing to do with the guy.”
President Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing relating to the Epstein case. He has not been accused of any crimes by law enforcement nor has he been identified as the subject of any investigation.
Colbert’s relationship with Trump has caused a frenzy lately, especially since the host’s show was canceled shortly after criticizing the president and Paramount for their $16 million settlement on a lawsuit over the editing of a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the 2024 election.
On his Truth Social account, Trump seemingly admitted he was involved in CBS’ decision but couldn’t take the full blame.
“Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night. That is not true!”
He concluded, “The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — and it was only going to get WORSE!”
