Chase Strokes posted two Instagram Stories today suggesting he and Kelsea Ballerini’s on-off relationship has come to an end for good. “Don’t believe the media,” he wrote in the first post, alluding to recent reports that Stokes and Ballerini had reconciled. “I’m blocked, I did nothing wrong. Sorry ❤️ I tried.”
On Instagram, neither Ballerini nor Stokes follow each other anymore, suggesting one could’ve blocked the other.

He added in a second post, “I’m sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards.”
Ballerini has not responded to Stokes’s comments. Earlier this week, Stokes called out Ballerini’s fans on her TikTok for their negative comments, seemingly about him and his co-star and ex-girlfriend, Madelyn Cline. Fans believe Ballerini’s new Mount Pleasant track “Emerald City” is about the insecurity she felt about Cline and Stokes’s relationship. “These comments are fucking weird. Grow up,” he wrote.
On September 14, the singer’s rep confirmed she and Stokes had broken up. Weeks later, the two stars sparked reconciliation rumors when they were seen holding hands in Croatia, where Stokes is filming Outer Banks.
On November 10, a source told Us Weekly, “Kelsea and Chase are giving their relationship another try. There’s still a lot of love there, so they fell back into it very naturally.” Another insider told the outlet the same day, “[They] never really stopped being in touch after their brief split. [They] are back together.”
Around the same time, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the pair had privately been on-off since their split: “They really want to make it work, but Kelsea has been a bit hesitant to fully dive back in.”
Ballerini and Stokes dated for about three years prior to their first split. In September, sources close to the former couple told People that they broke up after trying to fix their issues: “They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.”
On September 22, a source told Us Weekly that Ballerini started the breakup conversation: “It was a hard split. They had been arguing a lot recently, and their communication wasn’t great in the last month. They were both traveling so much and trying to juggle everything, and the arguments piled up.”
The insider added that they were “mature adults and had the same understanding that they needed space. There is still a lot of love between them,” but Stokes and Ballerini were just “extremely busy right now.”
