Sarah Ferguson is “s***-scared” of the impact the ongoing furore over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is having on the former prince. Ferguson, who along with her former husband, lost her Royal title, after more information came to light surrounding Mountbatten Windsor’s relationship with the paedophile financier.
It has since been announced that the couple will be forced to move out of the Royal Lodge on the Windsor Estate amid claims that the brother of the King had sex with Virginia Giuffre when she was a teen. An insider, speaking to The Sun, has claimed the couple now spend most of their time apart at the mansion but Fergie often discusses her fears for what will come next.
They said: “She is particularly fearful for Andrew as she knows he was at the centre of the Epstein scandal.
“She has talked about ‘dark forces’ potentially targeting him.”
They added: “It is probably far-fetched but she is s***-scared and massively on edge.”
Amid the scandal, Andrew has been stripped of his royal titles, his prince prefix and will be evicted from his 30-room mansion.
He has rejected calls to relinquish control of the property on the King’s estate for years, as the scandal surrounding his relationship with the mega-paedophile increased following his disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview.
Sarah saw many charities previously associated with her cut ties, and, like her ex-husband, was also stripped of her York title.
She has continued to live with Andrew despite the pair’s divorce but will be forced to arrange her own living arrangements once she leaves the Royal Lodge.
According to royal expert Robert Jobson, some members of the family have become extremely concerned for the mental health of both Sarah and Andrew.
Asked whether the former couple are holding up following the latest round of reports, Mr Jobson said: “Not very well.”
Speaking on The Sun’s YouTube channel, Mr Jobson then said that some members of the Royal Family have grown concerned for Andrew and Sarah.
He said: “I think even members of the Royal Family who have taken action are concerned about both their mental health.
“I think that, most of all, you’ve got to be concerned about the victims of the Epstein scandal, and that to me is the biggest worry. They’re human beings; a lot has been taken away.”
