“The Roses” is the top movie on Hulu, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
The dark comedy is a reimagining of Warren Adler’s “The War of the Roses” novel and its 1989 adaptation. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as Theo and Ivy, a picture-perfect couple whose marriage begins falling apart after the former’s career nosedives as the latter’s takes off.
The film also stars Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao and Kate McKinnon.
Although “The Roses” appears to be a hit with Hulu subscribers, some critics panned the movie after it opened in theaters this summer, calling it an “overly glossy” update that “pales next to the original.”

“Champagne Problems” is the top movie on Netflix. The holiday film stars Minka Kelly as an ambitious executive who travels to Paris to acquire a world-renowned champagne brand before Christmas. But her plans are upended when she accidentally falls for the handsome heir to the bubbly empire.
Tom Wozniczka, Thibault de Montalembert, Sean Amsing, Flula Borg, Astrid Whettnall and Maeve Courtier-Lilley also star in the movie.
“The Conjuring: Last Rites” is the top movie on HBO Max right now. The fourth and (allegedly) final movie in the franchise follows paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) as they take on their most terrifying case in 1986 Pennsylvania, where they travel to vanquish a demon from a family’s home.
Ben Hardy and Mia Tomlinson also star in the film.
“After the Hunt” is one of the top movies on Prime Video. The psychological drama centers on a college professor (Julia Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional impasse when one of her star students (Ayo Edebiri) makes an accusation against one of her friends and colleagues (Andrew Garfield), which threatens to expose a dark secret from her own past.
The film’s cast also includes Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny.
