The Celebrity Traitors has taken the country by storm. Even though we were worried that the format wouldn’t work as well in a celebrity edition, the incredible twists and turns of this charity special series has proved us wrong a dozen times over. From Celia Imrie’s squeaky bum to Alan Carr’s hilarious transformation from bumbling beginner to Machiavellian schemer, it’s been quite the journey.
Now we’re approaching the end of the line: there are two Traitors left – Alan Carr and Cat Burns – and three Faithfuls, David Olusoga, Joe Marler and Nick Mohammed. Nick and Joe seem rock solid, but there’s still a way the Traitors could triumph.
But when will all this play out?
When is The Celebrity Traitors on this week?
The Celebrity Traitors is only on once this week, and it’s tonight: Thursday evening at 9pm on BBC1.
How many episodes are left?
Tonight’s episode is the grand finale – there will be no more episodes to come until the regular Traitors series begins (which is predicted for the New Year). Though you can also catch The Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked with Ed Gamble and the finalists tonight at 10.10pm on BBC2.
Who’s going to win?
Bookies’ odds vary but here are Digital Spy‘s chances for who will still be standing when the torches are extinguished, Claudia packs her knitwear away and the last moody cover version of a thematically-appropriate pop song plays over the credits.
Joe Marler – 2/3 on
Nick Mohammed – 2/3 on
David Olusoga – evens
Cat Burns – 2/1
Alan Carr – 4/1
Let’s be frank: the Traitors have a major uphill battle ahead of them if they’re going to win this thing. The moment everything changed was when David saved Joe from being murdered by allocating him a shield after the bridge mission.
If the Traitors had been able to murder Joe (and protect Jonathan Ross), they would have been invincible.
As it turned out, Joe and Nick – the “Hundies”, or 100 percent-ers – were able to consolidate their mutual-assurance pact and for now appear to have fellow faithful David on side. They also seem to trust him. If nothing changes on Thursday in that dynamic, they’ve got the game sewn up and it’s bye-bye Alan and Cat.
The differences in the odds that we’ve given above reflect David’s slightly weaker status (he’s not a Hundy) and Alan’s shakier ground. It seems unlikely that anyone would believe now that he’s a Faithful, but Cat could possibly squeak through. Though we don’t think she will.
The Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC1 and on iPlayer afterwards.
