The Notre Dame Royals remain the only unbeaten team in high school baseball after cutting down the Guam High Panthers, 13-4, Tuesday evening, but not after an early scare.
The Panthers actually took a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the 3rd inning before the Royals scored five runs in the 3rd and six runs in the 4th inning to pull away.
Derrin Gumataotao went 3-for-4 at the plate and came in relief on the mound for the win after 3 2/3 innings, striking out seven.
Catcher Co’en Villanueva added firepower to the ND offense going 3-for-3 as the Royals dished out 15 hits.
Guam High got to ND starter Trace Taijeron with two runs in the first and another in the third for a surprising 3-0 lead over the league-leading Royals.
Panthers starter Wesley Agustin once again got off to a good start, keeping ND scoreless for two innings, but ran into trouble in the next two innings.
Ty Leon Guerrero and Daniel Gumataotao added two hits for the Royals.

The GW Geckos sat all their starters and still came away with a big 18-2 win over the Sanchez Sharks.
