The local council of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, voted on Tuesday (November 25) to rename a street in the area named after Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III.

It is understood that the stripping of Prince Andrew’s royal titles was closely related to his involvement in the scandal involving the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Roberts Giuffre, a social advocate, also accused Andrew of sexual assault three times in her posthumously published memoir. A statement from Buckingham Palace noted, “While Prince Andrew continues to deny all allegations, his misjudgment has caused significant damage.”
