A former employee of the Royal Family has suggested that they may know the true cost of what could happen if Sarah Ferguson gives an explosive tell-all interview.
Following the public exile of her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, there has been speculation over what will become of Sarah .
Since Andrew had his titles removed following scandal after scandal about his interactions with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, there have been questions over what the pair will do now.
One such possibility is that the former Duchess of York will sit down for an interview and potentially throw senior members of the Royal Family under the bus.
Speaking about such a possibility, former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II, Ailsa Anderson, warned it could be detrimental to the Royal Family.
Speaking to the Sun’s royal podcast on what she would advise if the news came through about Sarah doing an interview, Ailsa said: “Firstly, doom and gloom. You’d have to see what she’s going to say.
“I think never do a knee jerk reaction, don’t be painted into a corner and then ask to do something immediately. You see what she says, analyse it.
“What you don’t want to do is add fuel to the flames of anything that she has said and prolong a story so I think it would very much be dependent on what she came up with, but it wouldn’t be good news.
“And it distracts from all the good work the Royal Family are doing, you know we’ve got a state visit next week, what you don’t want is her blowing that out of the water by giving an interview.”
Ailsa isn’t the royal expert to speak about the potential for a tell-all interview. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has discussed what strategies she might choose.
He told the Express: “If she is after a fast buck, she might well go back on Oprah or choose another outlet. This would give her publicity.
“In the past, she was able to make comebacks after she was hit by scandals and was admired for this, with charities deserting her after it was proved that she lied regarding her links with Epstein.”
Despite the potential for a comeback, Richard suggested that the scale of this latest blow means it will be almost impossible. He explained: “This seems highly unlikely.
“It depends on what her priorities are, how much money she actually has and what her plans are. We will doubtless discover soon, she was a disaster as a working royal and is totally shameless.”
