Ariana Grande recently attempted to quell the chatter about her physique, issuing a gentle reminder about the perils of body gossip.

The 32 year old Hollywood sensation addressed her critics on Instagram on November 29 by reposting an interview from her promotional tour for the first Wicked film last year. In the 2024 clip, Ariana acknowledges the remarks made about her physical appearance, deeming them harmful to everyone involved. “In today’s society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn’t have at all,” the former Nickelodeon star stated during a previous Wicked press tour interview.

“Commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes, or health or how they present themselves … that I think is really dangerous,” Ariana added at the time. In the same snippet, Ariana confessed that she had heard every conceivable comment about her body since her teenage years, and was fortunate to have a robust support system around her, reports the Mirror US. 

She also made it clear that she no longer tolerated such commentary in her life at this stage.

When Ariana re-posted the clip to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, she reiterated her stance in her Stories timeline, captioning the reshared post, “resharing this from last year [heart emoji] as a loving reminder to all.”

Ariana’s noticeably slimmer appearance has sparked increasing worry among her supporters over the past year, with many observing she appears even thinner during the promotional tour for Wicked: For Good compared to twelve months ago.

One concerned fan recently posted on X, “Ariana Grande in my opinion is a beautiful person. But Jesus i am concerned of her weight. I hope she’s with the right people in her life… something is very off.” Another supporter expressed, “I’m so worried about Ariana Grande. What happened? Why has she lost so much weight? I hope she’s ok.”

However, Ariana has consistently made clear that she finds remarks about her physique unwelcome.

Prior to the Wicked premieres, Ariana directly confronted the persistent commentary surrounding her weight in 2023 after supporters kept drawing comparisons between her current appearance and photographs from previous years. Numerous social media users maintained that Ariana was considerably thinner than she appeared in 2018. “I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy,” Ariana explained in a video she posted online at the time.
