Tom Read Wilson has become a firm favourite in this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. He offered emotional advice to EastEnders’ Shona McGarty and mimicked the accent of Mancunian rapper Aitch, which has lead one fan to say that he is “the truly unbridled joy we need in the world right now.”
The TV personality rose to fame on Celebs Go Dating, however he is also a trained performer, who studied at the Rose Bruford College and the Royal Academy of Music. After his time at university, he went on to star in numerous pantomimes and theatre productions.

During his blind audition he sang a version of Bing Crosby’s Accentuate the Positive
Unfortunately for Tom, not one of the judges turned around meaning he didn’t progress in the competition. The judges at the time included Will.I.am, Paloma Faith, Boy George and Ricky Wilson.
That same year, following his appearance on The Voice, the soft spoken gentleman joined E4’s Celebs Go Dating as the receptionist.
In 2018 he was promoted to client co-ordinator to the stars then to a senior client co-ordinator during the eleventh series in 2022.
In 2023, eight years after his last stage appearance, it was announced that the Celebs Go Dating star would star in the Spongebob Square Pants musical as the character Squidward.
Fast forward to now, and in his spare time Tom still uploads videos to social media of him performing. This includes tap dancing videos, as well as Sunday sonnets which he recites weekly.
His Celebs Go Dating co-star, Paul C Brunswick, payed tribute to his friend on social media as he made his appearance in the jungle.
Paul said: “The truth about Tom Read Wilson… He’s been one of my dearest friends for eight years and in that time, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply caring, brilliantly majestic, and truly wise he is.
