Country music star Morgan Wallen seemingly took aim at the CMA Awards as he celebrated being named at the top of the Apple Music charts for 2025.

On Tuesday, December 2, the 32-year-old country artist took to his Instagram Story, reposting the Apple Music announcement that his latest album ‘I’m The Problem’ was named as the second most listened to album of 2025. Along with the post, Wallen captioned, “I like to let my fans do the talking.”

Some thought this was a pointed comment targeting the CMA Awards, as Wallen opted not to attend the star-studded ceremony despite being nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year. He did not take home the win for any of these categories, but he was recognized for the 2025 CMA International Artist Achievement Award.

While he did not outright explain why he did not turn up to the prestigious event, it could have stemmed from his previously being banned from the awards for using a racial slur.

Another reason could be that he prefers recognition from his fan base, rather than by the professional voting members of the Country Music Association. No matter the reason, Wallen made sure to thank his fans for tuning in to his latest album and bringing it to the top of the charts.

One supporter wrote, “I think I may be responsible for this by myself [laughing emojis].”

Another added, “This album went triple platinum in my car.”

While a third commented, “The EXACT REASON he doesn’t attend award shows. He doesn’t need them.”

Another joked, “I probably contributed a million streams.”

Someone else added, “This album on repeat… all bangers nothing else.”

In addition to being named as one of Apple Music’s top albums, the album I’m The Problem debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and remained there for 12 nonconsecutive weeks. Some of the most popular tracks from the release include his songs I’m The Problem, What I Want, I Got Better, Just in Case, 20 Cigarettes, Superman, among others.
