Meghan Markle‘s estranged father Thomas Markle is currently in intensive care in a hospital in the Philippines, her half-brother has revealed. After becoming seriously ill at home, he was rushed to the hospital.
Thomas Markle Jr said: “I took dad to a hospital close to our home and they did various scans and the doctors said his life was in imminent danger.” Speaking of their dad, he added: “They raced us by ambulance, with the sirens going, to a much bigger hospital in the center of the city. My dad has undergone emergency surgery.”

Meghan, 44, and her father have not been on speaking terms since 2018, but Thomas has made it clear that he would love to reunite with his daughter.
Due to their fractured relationship, Thomas has not yet met his grandchildren, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
It was previously reported that Thomas has also never met Prince Harry, whom Meghan married in May 2018.
Thomas did not attend the couple’s royal wedding due to ill-health. The pair’s relationship became strained as Meghan felt betrayed after he staged paparazzi photos and later lied about his involvement.
Speaking of his half-sister, Thomas Jr. said that he hopes Meghan makes time to reunite with their dad as he is currently “fighting for his life”.
He said: “My only wish is that Meghan shows my father some compassion. He is literally fighting for his life”.
Thomas’s daughter – and Meghan’s half-sister – Samantha, 61, also told the Daily Mail: “He is a strong man, but he has been through so much. I am praying that he is strong enough to survive this. My father has been through two heart attacks, a stroke and an earthquake. I hope he can pull through this.”
