Meghan Markle’s festive special, “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration,” is all set to air on December 3. While the Duchess of Sussex hopes to spread the holiday cheer with her new series, British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard does not seem convinced.
Talking about the show and her approach, Chard told Fox News Digital that she believes “Meghan aspires to be the new American royalty” with her Netflix series. She continued, “However, although amusing, I can’t believe the American people take this seriously.”
She further told the outlet that with her venture, the Duchess of Sussex “seems to be living her best life as a fictional, boho-style princess and wannabe lifestyle guru.” The photographer continued, “Her new holiday show no doubt spotlights Meghan and how special she is — welcoming her loved ones and making them feel comfortable.” But Chard shared “it makes many here in the U.K. uneasy that, at a time when friends, family and giving are most important, she’s highlighting her own estrangement [from the royal family].”
The expert further feels that the “Suits” star “does not live a life of service.” Moreover, her new holiday show “can’t be compared to the British royal family’s work,”. According to Chard, “Princess Catherine’s concert” and “King Charles’ heartfelt Christmas broadcasts” bring people together. Due to this contrast, “Meghan’s holiday show will not be on the British royal family’s radar,” claimed Chard.
Markle’s holiday show will have many renowned guests. This includes author-producer Lindsay Roth, tennis champion Naomi Osaka, and “Top Chef” judge Tom Colicchio
