Rep. Robert Garcia said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) would be the best politician for a reality show. (Watch the video below.)
The California Democrat made his case to “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen, who happens to produce the “Real Housewives” series.
Garcia appeared on Thursday’s “WWHL” and fielded a viewer question about “which politician would make the best Bravolebrity” ― a term for someone who earns reality show fame on Bravo.
“Right now, the best politician I’d love to see on TV, even though I see her everyday in Congress, would be Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Garcia said. “’Cause she has made such a switch in her politics, I think it’d be pretty interesting to see her.”
Greene will be out of a job in early January after she announced her resignation amid a falling-out with President Donald Trump and a shocking break from far-right GOP policy. Greene demanded that the Trump administration release the Jeffrey Epstein files and backed Democrats on preserving access to affordable health care during shutdown negotiations.
“What do you make of her transformation?” Cohen followed.
“I don’t think anyone should excuse some of the horrible things she has said and the way she’s treated people,” Garcia replied. “But I believe that everyone has an opportunity to change. And if she’s genuine in wanting to be a better person and a kind person, I think she should be given the space to do that.”
Greene, of course, has attacked abortion rights, said the 2020 presidential election was “stolen,” mischaracterized Jan. 6 rioters, and conspiracy-mongered to the point she was once stripped of committee assignments.
But in the world of reality shows, that might make for pretty compelling TV.
Incidentally, Garcia was also asked what “Bravolebrity” would make the best politician. The lawmaker said “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay because she can “get along with everybody.”
