CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25News Now) – The Peoria Civic Center and the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts are celebrating record-setting events.
“The Book of Mormon” broke a house record for the highest grossing two-night engagement at the Prairie Home Alliance Theater on Dec. 2-3.
Meanwhile, “Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience” on Nov. 20 set a venue record at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
That event achieved a record-breaking night of ticket revenue. In total, the new venue milestone reached a gross of $104,667 and over 1,100 people in attendance.
This was the highest grossing single show ever recorded at the BCPA.

The City of Bloomington Arts and Entertainment Department attribute this achievement to the strong community interest and continued success of entertainment programming in Downtown Bloomington.
“Breaking our sales record is a powerful reminder of how strongly this community supports the arts.” said Anthony Nelson, Director of Arts and Entertainment. “We’re grateful to our audiences and proud of what this milestone means for the BCPA’s future”
Bloomington’s Arts and Entertainment Department also shared that this milestone highlights the venue’s continued commitment to creating meaningful and lasting memories for audiences.
