Cher and her boyfriend, music producer Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, were seen enjoying a glamorous night out in New York City over the weekend, as they attended the opening of Alan Faena’s new hotel in West Chelsea last Friday.
According to Page Six, the couple “were very close and stuck together” throughout the evening. The 79-year-old music icon and her 39-year-old partner arrived at the venue holding hands and were spotted spending time with friends and fellow attendees.
The night featured a special preview of Amaze, Vogue, Ascend, Flourish, and an installation by Faena Art that transformed the hotel courtyard into a retro-style roller-skating rink. When not mingling together, Cher joined Alan Faena in serving her custom “Cherlato” ice cream to guests. The frozen dessert is a collaboration between Cher and New Zealand-based ice cream creator Gianpaolo ‘Giapo’ Grazioli.
“She was in great spirits, hanging out with friends and her boyfriend,” the insider told Page Six, adding that the evening had an “electric and free” atmosphere.
Among the event’s attendees were Gayle King, Amy Sacco, artist Ashley Longshore, Grace Faena, and drag legend Lady Bunny. Bunny later noted on Instagram that Cher “seemed to really enjoy snuggling [with] her man” during the event. After the celebration, Cher and Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards were seen dining at the popular NYC hotspot Indochine, joined by Domenico Dolce, jeweler Loree Rodkin, and stylist Patti Wilson.
The weekend at the Faena-hosted event featured performances by Monday Blue, Kervyn Mark, the Muses, Justin Strauss, Stormin Norman, and Lady Bunny.
