Next year is shaping up to be a big one for the royal family, with reports suggesting they will visit America in April.
Senior members of the royal family, including Prince William and King Charles, are expected to travel to the U.S. early next year. It’s thought that during the trip, the king will be accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla, for a visit to the White House.
With the royal family heading to America, fans have been wondering if they will reunite with Prince Harry, who currently lives in Montecito. Former royal butler Grant Harrold doesn’t think a reunion is likely.
Speaking exclusively to The Express US on behalf of OLBG, Harrold explained, “The King and Queen will be based in one part of the country, while Harry and Meghan are across the continent.
“Although it would be easier for Harry to travel domestically than to fly to the UK, the real issue is optics: no one will want Harry overshadowing a state visit, even unintentionally.”
Harrold continued, “I doubt the Palace – or the White House – will extend an invitation in that direction. If anything, the King might consider visiting Harry and Meghan after the state visit, but that depends on his health and energy.”
The former royal butler pointed out that state visits can be “exhausting,” adding how Charles “usually wants to return home promptly.”
However, he suggested to us, “Still, if relations continue to improve, Harry and Meghan would certainly invite him – especially if he’s already in the US.”
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been estranged from the royal family for years, but the Duke of Sussex recently reunited with his father for the first time in more than a year in what many fans saw as “peace talks.”
The royal family’s visit to America will only take place if Charles’ health allows him to travel, according to reports.
The trip, which has not yet been confirmed by Buckingham Palace, is expected to span no more than four days in April 2026, according to Hello! Magazine. It’s believed the schedule will include meetings at the White House, ceremonial obligations and official engagements.
With Charles and Camilla taking the lead on the visit, it’s believed Prince William and Kate Middleton could join them to take part in celebrations surrounding the World Cup, which is set to take place in the U.S. next summer.
A source suggested to The Sun that the Prince and Princess of Wales would be accompanied by their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
