Sarah Ferguson has experienced the royal downfalls of all royal downfalls over the last few months. Since it was revealed that she emailed the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 after he was released from prison for child sex offences, Sarah has experienced plenty of humiliation, including being dropped from her patronages.
Since then, scandals surrounding her ex husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have also had an affect on her, causing her – alongside the former prince – to lose her royal duchess title and the Royal Lodge home she has co-habited in with her ex-husband. While she has been keeping a low profile, it has been reported that Sarah, 66, is now trying to build a new forward.
While the former duchess has had financial problems in the past, one royal expert has said she does not believe Sarah was ever really financially “broke”, which means that her house hunt could be very different to what many assumed.
Bond continued: “She must have funds somewhere, so perhaps she does indeed want to stay in the Windsor area, where she has friends.
“I am not, however, sure that the Royal family would want to risk running into her, so I’m sure they would prefer her to settle further away.”
If Sarah does indeed have enough money to live in Windsor, this will mean she will not need to move into her daughter’s abodes.
It was previously reported that she could have been housed in Princess Eugenie’s Portugal pad, or in an outbuilding on Princess Beatrice’s Cotswolds estate.
