Seth Meyers on Monday reminded his audience that Donald Trump’s FIFA Peace Prize win wasn’t the first time the president received a “fake award.”
The “Late Night” host aired a supercut of Trump boasting about winning a “Man of the Year” award in Michigan, a long-debunked claim that the president broke out again on the 2024 campaign trail.
“These fucking simps have no bottom!” Meyers said.
“I love that the party that was so mad about kids in Little League getting participation trophies had to retroactively make up a fake award for their leader so he wouldn’t get the sads! I mean, at least the kids actually participated in Little League.”
Still, Meyers stressed, “nothing will ever top” FIFA’s Peace Prize for Trump, who placed a medal from the organization around his own neck during the award presentation.
“First of all, is there anything sadder than putting a medal on yourself? It’s like putting the candles in your own birthday cake,” he joked.
He then roasted FIFA for making the award — a golden trophy featuring multiple hands holding up a globe — look so “fucking creepy.”
“That trophy doesn’t exactly say peace, it says, ‘Hell is full and the dead walk the Earth!’” he quipped.
