Some songs just make you feel instantly still, instantly calm. They make you realize that maybe you’ve been holding your breath for a while and you can finally let go. That was the immediate reaction I had with “Kabul,” the latest single from Chicago post-rock supergroup Pullman.
Pullman is Ken “Bundy K.” Brown (Tortoise/Directions In Music), Curtis Harvey (Rex), Chris Brokaw (Come), and Doug McCombs (Tortoise/Eleventh Dream Day) and drummer Tim Barnes. They’re releasing their newest album III this coming January via Western Vinyl. “Kabul” is the second preview from the forthcoming project.
Brokaw added on the new song: “Kabul. Dig deep. Banjo nod to the East. Throw it in the mail and into Bundy’s blender. Back to the boys and out into the ether. Boiling weeds for soup ain’t no way to live.”
