Located along the Mediterranean coast, the $36.6-million project transforms the waterfront into a vibrant public promenade. Designed to promote sustainability and community use, the first phase covers about half of the planned 8.7-mile stretch, and features pedestrian and bike paths, landscaped parks, artificial lakes, interactive fountains and solar-powered lighting.
The design includes energy-efficient technology and modern infrastructure for water, power and irrigation—highlighting environmental responsibility and urban livability. A major engineering element involves four bridges and an overpass crossing the railway line to enhance connectivity between districts.
Coastal conditions—characterized by high groundwater and saline, erosion-prone soils—necessitated specialized geological surveys and durable construction techniques. The team synchronized the promenade with surrounding infrastructure such as nearby utilities and roads, requiring precise design integration and phased coordination.
Environmental preservation and climate resilience were prioritized through assessments that protected dunes and vegetation, while construction adapted to marine exposure.
