Christmas came early for fans of Sidelined: The QB and Me, with the release of the film’s sequel, Sidelined 2: Intercepted, on November 27. The original Tubi movie was based on a Wattpad novel by Tay Marley, but the second instalment follows director Justin Wu’s vision for the main characters, Dallas and Drayton, played by Siena Agudong and Noah Beck, as their relationship is put to the test by distance, dreams and the pressures of college life.
In celebration of the film’s release, Beck – whose Sidelined character, Drayton, is a quarterback for the University of South Carolina’s American football team – showed up to a USC vs UCLA game to surprise fans.
With fans hungering for an as-yet-unconfirmed Sidelined 3, the actor – who also executive-produced the sequel – theorised about what a third film could look like. He told romance-focused entertainment website Swooon, “I think it’s going to be really interesting to play with the writers of how we get our characters to choose one another, as opposed to just being with each other for the convenience.”

Beck, 24, hails from Peoria, Arizona, where he grew up with his teacher parents and sisters, who also have careers in education, per American Studies, an entertainment-focused publication. “My parents emphasised the importance of education, but they weren’t constantly pushing it on us,” he told the outlet, adding that his upbringing instilled curiosity in him.
He went to Ironwood High School in Glendale, and his nickname among friends growing up was Gibby, after the iCarly character played by Noah Munck.
