The 28-year-old finished fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2025.
Mears, 29, recorded a 3.49 ERA with 46 strikeouts and 13 walks over 56.2 innings.
Zerpa had a 4.18 ERA with 58 strikeouts and 22 walks over 64.2 innings. The 26-year-old had spent his entire five-year MLB career in Kansas City thus far where he has been effective as a ground-ball pitcher, predominantly using a sinker to generate a 99th percentile groundball rate.
