Who could’ve imagined this would happen to Ryan Seacrest?
The “Wheel of Fortune” and “American Idol” host went from reading the morning announcements at Dunwoody (Georgia) High School to being forever cemented at his alma mater.
This is all due to the Delkab County School Board’s decision earlier this month.
The school district that the famed host attended voted to allow Dunwoody High School to rename its football stadium to Seacrest Stadium.
The brand new name of the stadium was done in his honor.
It’s a huge moment for Seacrest, 50, and his parents, Gary and Connie.
As previously reported, his father, Gary, died in October from prostate cancer.
“At just 16 years old, he transformed the daily announcements into a full morning broadcast show, beginning each day with an enthusiastic, ‘Good morning, Dunwoody!’” the official statement shared, according to Us Weekly. “Ryan’s creativity and vision quickly earned him the reputation as ‘The Voice of Dunwoody.’ During his broadcasts, he regularly recognized students, teachers and parents, celebrating their accomplishments and contributions to the school.”
The press release also noted that the stadium comes with upgraded features, which will go a long way to better serve the community.
“The new Seacrest Stadium will give Dunwoody something it has never truly had — a home field worthy of its pride and tradition,” the release continued. “With 2,000 additional seats, improved accessibility and a modern press box, the Dunwoody community can finally gather under the lights to cheer, celebrate and connect.”
“These stands will be more than a structure — they’ll be a symbol of unity, school spirit and hometown pride that generations of Wildcats will call their own,” the statement concluded.
To fans, the recognition was a massive deal and they wasted no time congratulating the media star.
“Game changer,” one follower chimed on Instagram, while another applauded, “So deserving!”
