Two weekends of fun await at Space Coast Renaissance Fair in Viera

Minutes, as Shakespeare put it, hasten “as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,” and there is no time to lose to catch the action of two joyous weekends in January, where the Space Coast Renaissance Fair spans thrilling tournaments, bountiful feasting, lively music and endless laughter. Merchants, entertainers and cooks from across the realms have been summoned to make this the most magnificent celebration yet.

Using your best quill, mark the weekends of Jan. 10 and 11, and 17 and 18 as a reminder to attend this event held at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera.

The Space Coast Renaissance Fair recreates a bustling 16th-century European town, complete with jousting, artisan crafts, food, games, and live entertainment, including comedy, music, and acrobatics. It runs on Saturdays and Sundays, from Jan. 10 through 18, featuring a themed story, a large artisan market, and family-friendly activities like rides and games.

“We bring to life a 16th-century European marketplace with jousting, artisan crafts, food, games, and live entertainment like comedy, music, and acrobatics,” said fair chair Giles Malone.

“The festival is known for its immersive, day-long experience with hundreds of costumed characters and is one of the largest of its kind in Florida.”

The festival will transform Viera’s Space Coast Daily Park into a 40-acre world of jousts, noble knights, royalty, artisans and performers. Produced in cooperation with the Orlando Renaissance Fair, the immersive event will feature thundering steeds, heart-pumping jousts and a full cast of colorful characters bent on creating a dynamic atmosphere that blends historical storytelling with high‑energy spectacle.

Visitors can expect four full days of entertainment designed to captivate all guests regardless of age.

Attractions include jousting tournaments, falconry, comedy shows, live music, and theatrical performances, an extensive marketplace with handmade goods, a variety of festival foods, including craft brews and a slew of games and rides, including archery, axe throwing and an adventure playground for the younger knights and little ladies.

Wrapping around all the fun is an immersive storyline that involves the unfortunate choice of guests of Count Victor and Countess Celeste. It appears that the good Count and Countess have graciously invited the Sheriff of Nottingham, complete with sizable entourage, to enjoy their legendary hospitality, and they even sweetened the deal with a promise of a monthly protection fee to keep Robin Hood and his band of hooligans from darkening their doorstep.

Forsooth, the nasty Sheriff is bent on plundering the riches of Viera, and he is not above having his team impersonate Robin’s men to rob the citizenry, while demanding coin to defend them.

Outraged, Robin vows to confront the Sheriff and reveal his treachery before all. Loyalties will be tested. Truths will come to light, but whether good or evil prevails, the narrative element adds a layer of drama and humor, inviting guests to forsake their 21st century identities for a moment and step directly into the story of yore.
