Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist are engaged after years of a rocky relationship.
The rapper paused his benefit concert in Atlanta Tuesday night to propose to the R&B star mid-show.
A video that was originally posted on TikTok and shared to X by Complex captured the moment when Young Thug came out on stage during Mariah’s performance.
The couple was seen chatting while the “Bad Bad Bad” rapper was down on one knee with an open ring box. He was also intermittently hugging the “Burning Blue” songstress.
“What you say, babe?,” Young Thug eventually asked while standing up according to the video.
“I’m shaking,” Mariah replied. “Put it on!”
The singer then turned to the crowd and proclaimed, “Guess we’re getting married” before kissing her new fiancé.
Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist have been dating for several years. HotNewHipHop reports the couple were first seen together in November 2021, months before the “Hot” rapper was arrested and charged with violating the Georgia RICO Act, alongside 27 members of YSL. Young Thug was released in October 2024.
Mariah had been supporting Young Thug throughout his trial and would consistently visit him while he was in jail, according to the news outlet. The duo has faced breakup rumors in the past and actually put their relationship on pause in October, per Billboard. However, the proposal is a good example of how they’re both committed to each other.
