CHAMPAIGN — The audience has spoken: It’s not yet time for the Virginia Theatre curtain to fall on Roger Ebert’s Film Festival.
Festival organizers Chaz Ebert and Nate Kohn said they “recently surveyed past Ebertfest attendees to see if there was interest in One Last Dance — and the response was clear.” The vast majority — 97 percent — gave the idea an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
“So we’re doing it,” Ebert and Kohn said in a statement.
Ebertfest is returning for one final year, from April 17-19, 2026, at Champaign’s Virginia Theatre.
“This special edition will be a two-day festival, featuring eight films, special guests, and the lively, thoughtful Q&As that make Ebertfest unlike any other,” they said. “Expect everything you love about the festival — plus a few surprises we can’t wait to share.”
