The Texas Rangers have parted ways with a 33-year-old outfielder.
According to a report from Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com, the AL West club released Dairon Blanco on Friday morning.
Blanco did not make an appearance with the Rangers at the Major League level, spending his tenure with the organization at Triple-A Round Rock.
He is a Major League veteran of four years, but has never made more than 138 trips to the plate in a season. From 2022-25, Blanco hit .257 with seven home runs and a .728 OPS in 171 games with the Kansas City Royals.
Blanco’s stolen base track record is more than solid. He’s 59-for-73 in stolen base attempts in his career.
“Blanco has experience at all three outfield positions. His outstanding speed gives him the range to cover any of the spots, but he’s been dinged for a below-average arm dating back to his prospect days,” Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors wrote Friday.

“It hasn’t graded out well during his big league time, making him best suited for left field with occasional work in center.”
Given his speed and agility, Blanco should be able to find another minor league deal sometime soon.
