GB News guest slams ‘woke celebrity bubble exiling Trump and Reform associates’ after Thomas Skinner sues BBC

A GB News guest has condemned celebrity circles “exiling Trump and Reform UK associates” and for feeding into the “woke bubble”.

Political commentator Chloe Dobbs joined GB News to discuss former BBC Strictly Come Dancing contestant Thomas Skinner suing the public broadcaster.

Paired with fan-favourite Amy Dowden on the show, Mr Skinner claimed the vote was “rigged” after he was booted out of the competition in the series’ first dance-off.

Mr Skinner has claimed he is “adamant” that he got a larger share of the public vote, and believes he has the evidence to prove it.

He announced he would be boycotting the season finale tonight, which is usually attended by the series’ ex-contestants who partake in a group dance.

Ahead of the show starting in September, Mr Skinner attracted criticism online for attending a barbecue with US Vice President JD Vance and posted videos on social media with Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick.

Since then, it is believed the Tories were gunning for a “posh-bosh alliance” with Mr Skinner, while Reform’s top bosses have been similarly complimentary to the social media star.

But Ms Dobbs pointed to celebrities being “touchy” about people who were on “non-political shows” with political opinions.

Ms Dobbs blasted right wing celebrities being ‘exiled from society as evil bigots’

She said: “It seems to be a common theme that if they’ve been outspoken with some sort of left wing point of view, it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

“But anything right wing, they think that person is evil. They’ve got to go.

“It just seems so many people who live in this woke bubble think that anyone who associates with Trump or Reform is some kind of evil bigot that needs to be exiled from society, or in this case, potentially have a vote rigged against them.”

Mr Skinner has been booked into the corporation’s Christmas special for the show where he first rose to fame, The Apprentice.

As a result, fellow commentator and GB News guest weighed in and argued that he does not believe the case will become the BBC’s next headache.

“He’s on The Celebrity Apprentice Christmas special. He’s still on that,” Andy Twelves told GB News.

He continued: “So they can’t hate him that much because they booked him after Strictly for that. He says he’s not a political bloke.

“That’s just not true. He hangs out with Robert Jenrick.

“You know, I don’t think you’d go and get invited to the Vice President of the United States’ barbecue in Oxford if you weren’t a political fellow.”

He added the reason the businessman was booted off the reality show was two-fold, simply saying “he was not very good at dancing”.

The second reason was that it was revealed he had three-month-long fling just after he got married.

“I’m not surprised that the public didn’t fall in love with him immediately, to be honest,” Mr Twelves candidly commented.

Mr Skinner and Ms Dowden accumulated 29 points from the judges across their two performances, facing former England rugby player Chris Robshaw and his partner Nadiya Bychkova, who had secured 30 points.

When approached by GB News, the BBC said about the claims that Strictly Come Dancing public vote is “robust and independently overseen and verified to ensure complete accuracy”.
