The King and the Princess of Wales have teased TV gifts as
Christmas Eve dawned.
And Kate hinted that one of her children might be involved in
what promises to be a festive treat.
The Princess of Wales was first off the mark with a festive
photo of a piano surrounded by decorations as Christmas Eve got
under way closely followed by a video of two sets of hands getting
ready to play what she called a ”special duet”.
As the video came to a close, a check dress very similar to
those loved by Princess Charlotte came into view.
The identity of the mystery player is set to be revealed as
Kate’s Christmas Carol service, Together at Christmas, goes out on
ITV on Christmas Eve night.
Princess Charlotte was at the service which was recorded on
December 5th at Westminster Abbey.
Her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, were also there,
stopping to help decorate a special tree on their way into the
service with dad, Prince William.
Westminster Abbey is also the setting for The King’s Christmas
Speech this year and HM was teasing that as his daughter in law was
hinting at her own TV special.
King Charles has chosen to record this year’s address in the
Lady Chapel at the Abbey which is the burial place of 15 other
monarchs including Elizabeth I, Mary I and Mary, Queen of
Scots.
As Christmas Eve got under way, the Royal Family shared some
behind the scenes glimpses of this year’s speech which will go out,
as is traditional, at 3pm on Christmas Day.
By then, we’ll have seen The King and the Princess of Wales at
Sandringham. Charles and Queen Camilla will be joined by William
and Kate as well as 12 year old George, 10 year old Charlotte and 7
year old Louis.
It’s expected that Princess Anne and her family will also be at
Sandringham for the celebrations. However, it’s reported that
Princess Beatrice won’t be joining them as she’s headed abroad on a
ski-ing trip with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and their
family which includes daughters Sienna, 4, and 10 month old Athena
as well as Wolfie, Edo’s son from a previous relationship.
Meanwhile, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will be spending his last
Christmas at Royal Lodge on Windsor estate. He is surrendering the
lease after twenty years residence. The decision was made at the
same time that King Charles stripped his brother of all his
titles.
