When Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose divorced last year it was not pretty.
There were accusations of abuse — from both sides — and more, and it appears things have not gotten much better because Firerose is still slamming the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer.
The latest dig came earlier this month when she shared a video to Instagram featuring the two together.
“If you’ve survived narcissistic abuse, you’re not alone,” she wrote. “It’s chilling how similar survivors’ experiences really are. Behind closed doors, it’s always the same playbook. Control, isolation, rage, manipulation, walking on eggshells, cognitive dissonance, feeling like only person on the world that can be experiencing what you are. But I promise, God sees everything and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
“You are far stronger than you think,” she added. “Love is always still real, even if what you’re experiencing right now is abuse, not love.”
Cyrus and Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodge, married in October 2023, and divorced in August 2024.
In the wake of the ugly breakup, audio emerged of Cyrus berating her for being late to a show.
FOX News reported that Cyrus admitted that it was him in the audio.
“Hell yeah I was at my wit’s end,” he told the site in a statement. “As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents last name. I had no idea she was arrested for felony residential burglary. I saw before my very own eyes, everything I thought I knew about her, was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain.”
FOX reported that the audio revealed Cyrus calling Firerose an “idiot,” while cursing and screaming because they were late for a “presumed gig” of his.
The site said that at one point Cyrus can be heard saying, “And this ain’t about your BRCA (gene). This ain’t about your surgery. This ain’t about nothing. This is about you being a(expletive) selfish (expletive). I don’t think you’re real smart. I’ve changed my damn mind on that (expletive.) What you are is a selfish (expletive, expletive).”
The site described Cyrus as “yelling.”
According to People Magazine, Firerose claimed that Cyrus filed for divorce just a day before she was set to have a preventative double mastectomy.
As for Cyrus, he has moved on and is currently dating model and actress Elizabeth Hurley.
