Yes, the last “SNL” episode of 2025 aired on Saturday, Dec. 20. There won’t be a new episode of “SNL” on Saturday, Dec. 27. An old episode will re-air instead.
It’s customary for the sketch comedy series to take a break during the holiday season. Although “SNL” has not yet confirmed when the first episode of 2026 will air, the NBC show will likely return in mid-January.
Ariana Grande hosted this year’s “SNL” Christmas episode on Dec. 20, with musical guest Cher. Grande had already hosted twice before and served as the musical guest three times. Cher’s only other musical guest appearance was back in November 1987.
Season 51 of “SNL” kicked off on Oct. 4. Thus far, the season has featured hosts including Bad Bunny, Amy Poehler and Sabrina Carpenter and musical guests including Doja Cat, Brandi Carlile and Lily Allen.
