The sci-fi spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test” hit Peacock on Saturday, Dec. 27, and fans are wondering if there’s another chapter ahead.
“The Copenhagen Test” has not yet been renewed for season 2, but that doesn’t mean another installment isn’t possible.
During a November interview with Entertainment Weekly, series creator Thomas Brandon teased that although the season 1 finale of “The Copenhagen Test” provides “emotional closure,” it “also opens a much bigger question.”
“That’s what would lead us into season 2,” Brandon said, hinting at the show’s future.
Simu Liu, who stars as intelligence agent Alexander Hale, also expressed interest is continuing with the project.
“We built this incredible world,” Liu told EW. “Alexander’s been a gift. He’s an important character: a Chinese American spy fighting for his country, making his parents proud, making his country proud. I’d love to keep exploring that.”
Alexander works for a secret government organization called The Orphanage. He must prove his loyalty to the organization after an enemy entity hacks into his brain using nanite technology.

Rather than removing the entity from Alexander’s brain, The Orphanage decides to use it to their advantage to identify the hacker.
“From this moment forward, your life is mine,” Alexander’s boss, John Moira (Brian d’Arcy James), tells him at one point.
Alexander’s life is further complicated by a bartender named Michelle (Melissa Barrera), an Orphanage operative hired to get close to him.
“It’s like ‘Love Island’,” Liu told EW of Alexander and Michelle’s dynamic. “They know people are watching, they’re performing, but maybe there’s something genuine underneath. That duality is what makes it interesting.”
In addition to Liu, Barrera and d’Arcy James, season 1 of “The Copenhagen Test” stars Sinclair Daniel (Parker), Mark O’Brien (Cobb), Kathleen Chalfant (St. George), Sara Amini (Ellie), Saul Rubinek (Victor Simonek) and Hannah Cruz (Rachel Kasperian).
All eight episodes of “The Copenhagen Test” season 1 are available to stream on Peacock.
