Coin Quest: Woodbury’s Winter Medallion Hunt Jan. 12-26, Each Monday an acrylic coin will be hidden in a Woodbury Park. Clues will be posted on Woodbury Parks and Recreation Facebook pages at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, noon on Wednesday and 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clues will also be posted on the City of Woodbury’s website two hours after Facebook postings. The 3 finders will each receive gift cards from Woodbury businesses worth $100. Winter Clothing Swap Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23-24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Historic Washington County Courthouse, 101 West Pine Street, Stillwater. “Shop” for free new and gently used winter gear. Although not required for participation, gently used winter outerwear and accessories can be donated from Dec. 29-Jan. 22 at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park or the Historic Courthouse.

Winter Constellations Friday, Jan. 23, 6:30-8 p.m., Lake Elmo Park Reserve Nordic Center, 1515 Keats Avenue North, Lake Elmo. Check out the winter sky using Minnesota’s latest mobile telescopes under the guidance of Mike Lynch (retired WCCO meterologist). Dress for the outdoors and bring a lawn chair. Pre-registration needed. $5 per person over age 6. Vehicle permit required.

A Green River Friday, Jan. 23, presented by the Woodbury Royal Theatre, 7 p.m. Woodbury High School, 2665 Woodlane Drive. This one-act play is entered in Minnesota High School League competition. It tells the story of a haunted veteran seeking peace by the river of his youth. Free.

Learn to Snowshoe  Saturday Jan. 24, 1-3 p.m., Dodge Nature Center at Shepherd Farm, 8946 70th St S, Cottage Grove. Float through fresh powder on wooden snowshoes on a mile long nature hike. Beginners as young as 10 are welcome. Register in advance. $10.

Matilda The Musical presented by the Open Door Community Theatre (Oltman Middle School, 6625 Goodview Ave S, Cottage Grove), Jan. 24-26, Thursday Jan. 29, Jan. 31, and Feb. 1. Evening performances at 7 p.m. Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. This inspiring musical tells the story of a unique girl finding her way. Proceeds benefit Bridge to Basics, a local group fighting hygiene poverty. Audience members are encouraged to bring soap, toothpaste, and other hygiene products for our struggling neighbors.

Performance in the Park – Matt Hannah Sunday, Jan. 25, 2 p.m., Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place. Matt Hannah is a Minneapolis-based folk Americana singer-songwriter with a Dylan-esque voice and skills on the dobro and the steel pedal guitar. Free.

Free Community resources for those in need including Warm meals, haircuts, food and gas gift cards, vaccinations, personal care items and help with housing, mental health, transportation, employment, health insurance and legal assistance.

Woodbury Community Academy Thursdays, Jan. 29-March 19, 6-8 p.m. Sessions educate about the city, build connections and encourage more involvement covering topics including history and demographics of Woodbury, government, and community organizations. $40.

Smartphone Security Friday, Jan. 30, 2-4 p.m., R. H. Stafford Library. Learn how to configure and check security settings that will work for you. Registration required.

Discover the Night: Winter Moonlight Hike Friday Jan. 30, 7-8:30 p.m., Dodge Nature Center at Shepherd Farm, 8946 70th St S, Cottage Grove. Hike through the old growth forest and look for animals moving in the moonlight. For adults 18 and older. Register in advance. $10.

Monarca Upstander Training Saturday Jan. 31, 9:30 a.m. Location provided after registration. Upstander, constitutional observer training to learn how to respond, document what’s happening and how to step up as a leader.
