A pair of veteran sports marketers, recently of ASM Global, are behind DRVN Sports & Entertainment, a startup with sponsorship sales and consulting capabilities including third-party sales, sponsorship consulting and packaging.
Former ASM CCO Jason Oberlander will be chairman and is teaming with former ASM SVP Carl Thomas, who is CEO.
DRVN’s capabilities include asset evaluation and negotiation. Also under the DRVN umbrella are former GMR and NFL marketer Matt Hill on sales; Jenna Mielnicki, a former Learfield/IMG College sales type who will head up marketing; and Nelson Melara, a former AEG seller who will head up market research.
Early clients are:
- Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, Calif., and its tenants, the G League San Diego Clippers and MASL San Diego Sockers.
- Vector Media, a big-event mobility marketing specialist.
- Fuze Technology, which combines in-venue charging devices at venues with directed advertising.
- Project Admission, a ticketing management specialist.
