The nominations for the 2026 Actor Awards (SAG Awards are no more!) are here, and with such an overwhelming number of strong contenders this year, it’s no surprise that a few notable snubs emerged.
Perhaps the most surprising is that “Wicked: For Good” wasn’t nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and that past Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo also didn’t receive a nomination for her performance in the sequel musical (her co-star, Ariana Grande, nabbed a nom for Outstanding Female Actor In A Supporting Role).
Another major snub this year is “Abbott Elementary” star Quinta Brunson not appearing in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for the first time, although her sitcom is up for best ensemble. Brunson has been nominated individually every year since 2023.
Others who missed out on nominations this year include: Tessa Thompson, who delivered a chaotic yet deeply nuanced performance in Nia DaCosta’s critically acclaimed adaptation, “Hedda“; Adam Scott, leading star of Apple TV hit “Severance” (which is up for best ensemble in a drama); the acclaimed family drama “Sentimental Value,” despite raking in numerous nominations at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards; and “Jay Kelly,” despite a career-best performance from Adam Sandler.
