Music Week has appointed experienced journalist and editor Charlotte Krol as its new Associate Editor.
In her new full-time role on the team, Krol will work across the entire Music Week offering, assisting in the delivery of its print editions, website and daily briefings, as well as the Music Week Awards and the Music Week Women In Music Awards.
Krol kicked off her music journalism career in 2013 writing features and reviews alongside her news reporter role at The Oxford Mail/Times. A four-year job followed at The Telegraph (2014-2018) in which she produced and edited news videos/podcasts and contributed to the newspaper’s online music section.
While occupying a full-time role at The Telegraph, Krol also contributed to The Line of Best Fit (2014-2020) serving as New Music Editor and, later, Senior Editor.
For the last seven years she has freelanced as a writer and editor across entertainment, tech, business and video news production at titles including NME, DJ Mag, Rolling Stone UK, The Evening Standard, Digital Frontier, Boiler Room, The i, The Independent and celebrity.land.
Speaking about the appointment, Music Week editor-in-chief George Garner said: “We’re delighted to welcome Charlotte to the Music Week team. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role, as well as real passion and vision. We can’t wait to get started working with her.”
