“Is it everyone or is it just me?” the Queen said to the dog before asking Ms Wilson how old Vegas was and if she had had one before.
Ms Wilson replied: “She’s two and no, she’s my first one.”
“And does she help you?” the Princess asked, to which the owner said: “Oh she really helps me. I’m a teacher, and she has changed my life.”
As the pair chatted, Vegas began digging frantically at the lawn, prompting her owner to apologise.
But the Princess simply smiled and said: “Oh it’s quite alright.”
Ms Wilson added: “I think she’s digging for truffles,” to which the Princess responded with a chuckle: “Good luck with that! Let me know if you find any.”
Ms Wilson later described the Princess as “a wonderful lady”.
She said Vegas had changed “everything” for her, adding: “It means she can alert me to things that are going on or alarms going off. And it means my son can leave me alone without worrying. It’s been life-changing. She does jump up a little, but everyone took it in their stride.”
