Congratulations, Carol! We love you, Carol! At tonight’s Golden Globes, Rhea Seehorn accepted the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama for her performance as romantasy author-turned-world savior Carol Sturka in the hugely popular new Apple TV series Pluribus. (Maybe now we’ll get that next Wycaro book!)
After taking the stage, Seehorn laughed at a note she’d left for herself on the print-out of her speech, reminding her to “get a prescription for beta blockers.” She told the audience, “But I did not. Sorry!”
The Better Call Saul actress thanked Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan for writing the role of Carol specifically for her, saying, “Thank you for having belief in me that is beyond. You make me want to be better every day.”

My speech says, “Get a prescription for beta blockers.” But I did not. Sorry! I’m gonna do my best—sorry, I’m just a little shocked. I think my stomach is still over there. Getting your name read with Bella Ramsay and Britt Lower and Helen Mirren and Kathy Bates and Keri Russell, um…I’m astonished by all your performances. I appreciate being listed with you. And, actually, to all of the women in this room: I’ve been to a lot of these parties that can get pretty scary for someone like me, sometimes, and the women in this room have been incredible in the last couple of weeks. Thank you for that. Speaking of pinch-me moments: Vince Gilligan, I still can’t find you! Are you in here? Hey! Vince Gilligan, thank you for writing me the role of a lifetime. And even more than that, thank you for having belief in me that is beyond. You make me wanna be better every day. I really appreciate it. Thank you to all my directors, all my writers, all my producers, my beautiful cast…all of our guest stars, all of our incredible background artists. My tireless crew, thank you. They had my back every single night when the sun was coming up. Thank you so much for that. Thank you to Apple TV. Thank you to Sony. It takes an entire village, so thank you to my beautiful village…my beautiful family, my sons…my partner, Graham Larson. And thank you to the Golden Globes voting body. I’m still so grateful that I get to do this for a living and this is incredible icing on that cake. Thanks.
