A proposed bill, House Bill 144, could allow Vestavia Hills to expand its entertainment districts, where people can legally carry and drink alcohol. The bill would authorize the creation of up to five districts, with Liberty Park emerging as a potential fourth location following a request from property owners.
However, city leaders emphasize that the bill’s passage does not automatically create new districts. Even if approved at the state level, the Vestavia Hills City Council would need to vote to establish any additional district by local ordinance.
