Bring Me The Horizon have teased a new remix of one of their songs for the Ghost Of Yōtei video game, and confirmed that they will feature on the new ILLENIUM album.

News of the remix was first hinted at on social media recently, when it was confirmed that the Sheffield metal giants had teamed up with the developers of the action-adventure video game Ghost Of Yōtei.

In a new clip shared online, frontman Oli Sykes is seen playing the videogame intently, and explaining why it was important for him to get involved in the project.

“I love to play video games. The ones that stay with me most and make me want to go back are the ones that have a gripping story,” he said, going on to add that he found the particular storyline for the game “inspiring”.

He also went on to suggest that the band have come together to record a new, cinematic remix of their song ‘Throne’, which was released as part of the 2015 album ‘That’s The Spirit’.

“It wasn’t just about remixing our track,” he added. “The fact is, it’s just a game that I’ve clocked over 100 hours on. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages, to get into this world.”

The collaboration with Ghost Of Yōtei will mark yet another venture into the video game industry for Bring Me The Horizon, following on from them dropping ‘Ludens’ in 2019 for the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed Hideo Kojima game Death Stranding.

“I wanted it to be connected to the video game, but I didn’t want to sing directly about that,” Sykes told NME that year. “I looked at Kojima’s whole ethos, went on his website, and as it was loading it came up with this thing that said, ‘We’re not homosapiens, we’re homoludens’. It’s Latin for ‘player’ and it’s all about how he believes that our creativity is our greatest asset and the biggest hope for mankind.

“It said something along the lines that even if all the flowers die and the world is at an endpoint, there would still be hope if there were humans on the planet because we find ways to adapt.”

The new remix of ‘Throne’ isn’t the only new announcement BMTH have up their sleeves either, as it has been revealed that they will be among the many guest features on the forthcoming ILLENIUM album.

Titled ‘Odyssey’, the record marks the follow-up to the 2023 self-titled album from the DJ and producer, and is set to have an impressive number of collaborations.

The 19-song tracklist was recently revealed, and was confirmed to star names like Tom Grennan, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Kid Cudi, Alok, and more. Bring Me The Horizon are on the eighth song on the tracklist, ‘Slave To The Rithm”.

Sykes and co. are set to head out on their ‘Ascension Program 2’ North American tour later this spring, and the dates come following them playing a raucous headline slot at Reading & Leeds 2025, which NME awarded five stars.

Speaking to NME about the set ahead of time, the frontman confirmed that they would be taking a hiatus following the massive response to their latest album ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’.

Then, speaking to us backstage at Reading, he revealed that there are 12 songs that could be arriving soon as part of the ‘Director’s Cut’ of ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’, but warned fans that since becoming the father to twins, the new music might take a little longer than expected.

“The music will come, but it’s just not the be-all and end-all,” he said. “We’re realising that we don’t have to put another record out; we just put one out. Most bands would go away for two years, have an actual break,” he shared. “You don’t have to do this, but I want to and I enjoy it. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.”
