Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau just made their first public appearance of 2026—but not on any red carpet. Instead, the singer and former Canadian prime minister were photographed holding hands at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, earlier today. Perry had on a tan cardigan and matching tan pencil skirt, while Trudeau wore a navy suit.
The buzzy political event appearance comes about two weeks after Perry revealed that the couple traveled together during the holidays. In a recap Instagram, she posted a photo of them kissing somewhere tropical.
On December 31, a source told Us Weekly that Perry and Trudeau intended to spend New Year’s together. “They are very smitten and into each other,” the insider said, adding that Perry is “really inspired” by Trudeau. “[She’s] impressed by his accomplishments. He’s a great match for her.”
The pair was first linked in July when they were photographed on a date in Montreal. Months later in October, a source close to the singer told People that Perry didn’t expect their relationship to progress the way it had.
“Dating Justin is something she never saw coming, but she’s really enjoying this surprising life twist,” the insider said.
The source detailed the lengths Trudeau went to pursue their romance, saying, “She’s focused on her [Lifetimes] tour, and Justin has made a real effort to meet her where she is—literally. She’s flattered. He’s shown that he’s committed and really cares about spending time with her. It’s clear that he values the connection, and so does Katy. She’s in a great place.”
