
Olivia Wilde overwhelmed with emotion during ‘The Invite’ Sundance premiere
Olivia Wilde appeared emotional as she premiered her highly anticipated new film at the Sundance Film Festival.
On Friday, January 24, the 41-year-old actress and director made a striking and an impactful appearance at the festival for the premiere of her project, The Invite.
The film stars Wilde alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, and serves as an English-language remake of the Spanish movie The People Upstairs by Cesc Gay.
The screening of The Invite was met with a standing ovation for the Don’t Worry Darling star.
A video posted by Deadline shows Wilde walking onto the stage as the audience gave her a thunderous standing ovation for her latest project.
In the clip, she appears visibly emotional, even wiping away tears.
“There’s a seven-hour movie you would have liked,” the mom of two joked.
Speaking about the project, Wilde added, “We dug into it with generosity and infused it with our own ideas. The cast delivered creative energy every single day.”
In addition to starring in the film, the Booksmart director also co-wrote the screenplay with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
Olivia Wilde was also seen wearing “ICE Out” and “Be Good” pins, expressing her disappointment and concern over the recent killing of a 37-year-old ICU nurse, Alex Pretti, by federal agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
