Nearly four decades after the classic, Lionsgate is moving forward with Dirty Dancing 2, which is currently being penned by Dying for S-x writer Kim Rosenstock (via The Hollywood Reporter). Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, the producers behind The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, will oversee the production of the follow-up to the 1987 movie, which featured Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Grey will be reprising her iconic role of Frances Baby Houseman in the follow-up, and while Jonathan Levine was previously attached to direct the sequel, his role will be confined to that of executive producer.
