
Billie Eilish fans disappointed as James Cameron delays ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ film
Billie Eilish and James Cameron’s highly anticipated concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft, has hit a slight setback, with its release date delayed by seven weeks.
On Monday, January 26, the 71-year-old Canadian filmmaker took to his Instagram account to confirm the development to fans eagerly awaiting the unexpected collaboration.
Cameron announced that the forthcoming documentary had been pushed back due to technical difficulties. It was originally supposed to premiere on March 20, 2026.
“We’re refining the cut; dialling in cool, new 3D tech; adding some special behind-the-scenes we know you’ll love,” the Titanic director wrote in the caption.
Building excitement among fans, Cameron added, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) will now release Friday, May 8th. Worth the wait!”
He also shared an attention-grabbing image captured during the editing process, featuring a wide shot of Eilish performing on stage during her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, which concluded on November 23, 2025.
Additionally, the BIRDS OF A FEATHER hitmaker shared the update on her Instagram Stories.
“Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) will now release on May 8th, 2026! promise it will be worth the wait,” Eilish penned.
Billie Eilish first announced her collaboration with James Cameron on the concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft in July 2025, with the trailer released in December.
