Arijit Singh – Salman Khan feud
In 2014, during a Star Guild Awards event hosted by Salman Khan, Arijit appeared dressed in casuals and chappals and tired from editing sessions. Salman quipped, “Tu hai winner (you’re the winner)?” and joked about him sleeping, prompting Arijit’s reply: “Aap logon ne sula diya (You people put me to sleep),” which offended Salman.
This became the starting point of years-long rift, with unconfirmed reports suggesting that Arijit’s songs were removed from Salman’s films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.
Arijit publicly apologised in 2016 via Facebook and, by 2025, Salman confirmed on Bigg Boss 19 they were “good friends.”
Cameraman clash
In 2013, Arijit faced arrest over allegedly assaulting a news cameraman, Apurba Chowdhury, with his helmet during a domestic case hearing in Behrampore court premises. He was later released on bail. Singh stated that he lost his temper when the journalist continued filming despite requests to stop, admitting to striking the camera with his helmet, but not the person.
Slammed composer for heavily retuning his voice
In 2016, Singh reportedly slammed Wajah Tum Ho composer Abhijit Vaghani in a Facebook post, which he later deleted, accusing him of excessively retuning his voice in Dil Ke Paas. Saying he felt “cheated” and couldn’t recognise his own voice, Arijit added he was ashamed of the final rendition. The song is a modern take on Kishore Kumar’s classic, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, from the 1973 Dharmendra-starrer, Blackmail.
Microphone meltdown
A 2018 concert video went viral when Arijit lost his cool mid-performance. Frustrated by a faulty mic, he reportedly shouted, “Somebody f**king fix this mic.” Fans were stunned by the usually calm singer’s outburst. This happened mid-performance, while he was singing the song Nadaan Parindey from Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar.
Security guard drama
In August 2025, a Shantiniketan video shoot led to a complaint against Arijit Singh and his security guard for blocking a road and scuffling with local resident Kamal Kant Laha, who lost a gold ring. Laha alleged that he faced difficulties while trying to pass through a road that was closed for the video shoot.
The matter was resolved amicably at the police station after the guard apologised and Laha withdrew the complaint. It drew attention to disruptions caused by celebrity shoots in quiet areas.
